Performance Opportunities
We offer real-world performance experience, giving our students the chance to shine on stage. Every year, we produce four full-scale productions at the Hyde Festival Theatre, featuring a mix of musicals, plays, pantomimes, murder mysteries and variety performances. These shows are a celebration of our students’ hard work, creativity, and progress.
In addition to our main productions, we also:
-
Participate in local events and festivals
-
Organise fundraising performances to support the arts in our community
-
Collaborate on charity events, including recent efforts to raise funds for the Hyde Festival Theatre

Showstoppers is a member of ACT – the Association of Community Theatre, a national network that supports grassroots theatre groups across the UK. Being part of ACT helps us stay connected with the wider performing arts community and ensures that our students benefit from the highest standards in community theatre. In 2025 we were proud to receive 10 nominations at the Pantomime awards walking away with 5 winners, as well as winning an out of the spot light award at members day for our amazing creative team.
More Than Just Theatre
At Showstoppers, it’s not just about performing—it’s about creating a space where our members feel empowered, accepted, and inspired. Many of our members develop lasting friendships, grow in self-esteem, and discover passions they never knew they had.
We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds, and there’s no pressure to be a “star”—just be yourself, and have fun!
“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”
